The Actionettes are...
The Actionettes are London's original 60s dance troupe, performing synchronised routines to girl groups as well as Lulu, Nancy and Dusty. Established in 2000, The Actionettes have performed along side 60s legends Arthur Lee and Love, and The Action, as well as at the 100 Club, the BFI, the Tate Gallery, V&A, the Design Museum, Brixton Academy as well as countless other venues in the UK and abroad. They have also choreographed and performed in 60s-based film Made in Dagenham, on Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe, in the BBC's Primary Dance series as well as appearing in schlock horror film, Stitchgirl. The Actionettes also starred in the video for the recent hit single Boo Shuffle by The Pipettes.
Fiesty, friendly, fun and fiercely anti-conformist, The Actionettes manage to cause a stir wherever they go, with their unique style, infectious enthusiasm, high-octane performances and general joie de vivre.
Presenting... Miss Balconette, Cassette, Castanette, Corvette, Etiquette, Kitschenette, Luncheonette, Scarlette, Silhouette, Twinsette & Velvelette!
"Your dancing and outfits and general joie de vivre were exactly what we knew only the Actionettes could deliver " (Unskinny Bop)
"An Actionettes' event is part gig, part party. The fourth wall between those on stage and off it is removed" (SoundsXP)
"With each shake of the hips, the smiles get wider"
Fantastic fun; great moves!"

The Big Bucovina Anarchy & Romance Xmas Ball
Thursday 12th December 2013
7pm - late
£14 + booking fee or in person from Senzala Creperie (Brixton) or Cafe Metolino (Stoke Newington)
Shantel + Bucovina + The Actionettes + DJ Sacha Dieu (Stranger Than Paradise) + DJ Russ Jones (The Hackney Globe Trotter)
Shantel's hits such as Bucovina, Disko Partizani and Super Bad Day, with their East European and Balkan Gypsy vibes, have spanked audiences into a joyous frenzy around the world. His Bucovina Club parties are legendary as is his live band Bucovina Club Orkestar. Maintaining the same jackhammer energy and hot brass from when he first kicked the door open, Shantel's new incarnation, Anarchy & Romance, adds a tight-guitar retro rock n' roll edge to create a sound and feel as if the Beatles had shared the stage in Hamburg in the 60s night after night with Gogol Bordello's dads.
Shoreditch Town Hall
Saturday 31st December 2013
9pm - 3am
380 Old St, London EC1
NYE usually starts with sipping warm cava in someone’s living room and ends with drinking vodka out of a vase at 4am after snogging your best friend. For one night only award winning show off Scottee offers you the same sort of NYE with better music, colder cava, expensive confetti and more talent than any Channel 4 ‘House Party’...
